Structure Fire
House fire in Town of Fairfield
BARABOO, WI — At approximately 1:49 a.m., the Baraboo Area Fire and EMS District was dispatched to Levee Road for a reported structure fire. The fire was reported by an Adams Columbia County Electric Cooperative worker.
Adams Columbia Electric Cooperative received an automatic monitoring alert for a power outage at the address and dispatched a utility worker to troubleshoot the issue. When the worker arrived, the residence’s outbuilding was fully engulfed in fire, and the worker called 911.
When Baraboo Area Fire and EMS District crews arrived, the structure was fully involved and had already collapsed. There were no occupants at the home at the time of the fire. Due to fire conditions and the overhaul operations needed, the District upgraded the response to a working still, bringing in additional resources.
After three hours on scene, the fire was extinguished with no injuries reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The Baraboo Area Fire and EMS District was assisted by Adams Columbia Electric Cooperative, Dells-Delton EMS, Delton Fire Department, Loganville Fire Department, North Freedom Fire Department, Prairie du Sac Fire Department, Sauk Prairie EMS, and Sauk County Communications Center.
