The District provides scheduled Advanced Life Support transport so patients can reach higher levels of care that are not available at the local hospital. Paramedics continue ordered monitoring and treatment between medical facilities throughout the trip.
This service is separate from calling 911, but the interfacility ambulance can return to emergency response when local call volume requires additional coverage. Hospitals and care facilities should call with the patient location, destination, timing, and required level of care.
Request standby fire or EMS coverage for a community gathering or special event. Include the event date, operating hours, location, estimated attendance, event activities, and the type of coverage requested.
REQUEST EVENT COVERAGEAnnual inspections, emergency-lighting requirements, and property-access programs help buildings remain safe, accessible, and code compliant before an emergency occurs.
BAFED completes annual fire-prevention inspections in commercial and multi-family buildings under Wisconsin Administrative Code SPS 314. Inspections identify hazards, confirm required protection systems are maintained, and help owners and occupants address concerns before an emergency. Some properties receive additional inspections based on occupancy or risk.
Owners and occupants must test emergency and exit lighting, keep the completed log on the premises, and make it available during an inspection or when requested.

A Knox Box gives our crews secure emergency access without forcing a door. It is required for commercial and industrial occupancies, multi-family residential buildings with three or more units, and buildings with fire-alarm or sprinkler systems.
Order the commercial KnoxBox 3200, then contact the District before installation so placement and key access can be confirmed.
If you change your locks, email inspectors@baraboofireandems.com so District personnel can arrange to update the keys secured in your Knox Box.
